crossflow thermostat housing to radiator pipe?

errr, thinking of replacing my hoses by blingy silicone ones.

I believe Ford uses 32 mm for a lot of its cars (old ones anyway) and that appearswto be the case for the radiator and water pump, but on the crossflow thermostat housing, I measure to be 40+ mm!!?!?!

Do you try to push on a 32 mm hose or use an reducer 40 -> 32 mm are available.

and is auto-performance on ebay the cheapest place for silicone hoses?

it will be much easier to use a reducer than struggling to stretch a silicone tube 8mm oversize. Ive found they dont tend to have that much stretch in them. especially not when you talking abour pipe as small as 32mm
