My Pinto is nearly dead.
The Baron - 29/4/09 at 06:03 PM

My second Pinto engine in 1 year is about to expire, so I have been collecting together the parts to install a Zetec in the near future.

I have the fuelling sorted by using an adaptor plate to enable me to install my 32/36 dgav (which was band new 500 miles ago)

Engine mountings, are designed & partial fabricated (cant finish until I get the engine in the car)

New gearbox support bearing purchased.

A ford coil pack

A starter from a Diesel escort.

The exhaust I shall make.

But!!!!!!!

In the true spirit of the locost, what is the cheapest & easiest way to get some ignition on the go? I can’t really afford the mega jolt jobber. Is there any cheap and cheerful method using scrap yard parts?

Cheers,

B

Using the coil pack you have it is possible to run a 2D ignition set up from ( now i will probably be corrected on this ) a fiesta/escort.

Try a search on zetec ignition wiring,i did have all the info on my old pc and sadly havnt kept any notes.

Sorry but the best i can do

Its the Ford ESC unit you need from a carbed Escort/Orion/Fiesta.

I just happen to have one with the loom plug and a circuit diagram.

U2U me if you're interested, I'm sticking with MJLJ and bike carbs for now.
