
hi all,can any one tell me what my cr is,its a 2100 fart road pinto,i used a guage and it read 200psi,i dont know how to convert it

yep its a new type of pinto tuning,you got to use the tank as a tolet

Unfortunately it's not that simple. You will also need to know a lot more about your engine (bore, stroke, volumes (combustion chamber, piston shape etc), deck height etc) before you can convert.

My standard 1600 pinto runs at 170 psi.
200psi is 13.7895146 bar
enter the following into google to convert anything:-
convert 200psi to bar
i just find it easier to work in bar
then measure the bore, bit of math, job done....

It will be in the region of 9.1:1 to 9.5:1 presuming the block has been decked to suit the 2.1 rebore. It could be higher if the heads been skimmed as
well, which can take it to 10.5:1
Too high for any serious amount of boost. You really need to lower it to about 8.5:1 and use forged rods and pistons (cossie ones would fit a std
block, but not a 2.1).

First of all it depends hugely on the cam. A long duration cam will considerably reduce the static CR since the valves won't seal until well
after the piston has started it's compression stroke.
Then you have the calibration of the pressure gauge, some of them are absolutely dire, but it doesn't matter for testing for cylinder
variation.
Next you have the good old gas laws hampering the situation. Unless you compress a gas very, very slowly to give an isothermal process, the gas heats
up (adiabatic heating). This naturally increases the pressure given a fixed volume.
A genuine 150bhp Pinto (which is a fairly rare device), will have a high static CR, at least 10:1 and probably a bit fair more than that.

why is a 150hp pinto rare its 1600quid from vulcan bit more if you want 160hp,this is at the fly,still150hp at the wheels isnt rare,mark the owner of

A proper 210 out of a Pinto would cost well over £5000 probably closer to £10000
You can't just bolt bhp to a Pinto, 130bhp is pretty easy, getting a proper 150bhp, matching all the bits and getting set up is going to cost, I
already have a pile of bits worth £600 sitting in my workshop, i have bike carbs, Megajolt, light flywheel and vernier from the current engine. I
expect 150bhp, I will be exstatic if i get more. What i am going to do is make sure i can drive the car on the road, I don't want an engine that
only starts to produce power at 4000rpm but one that will still drive relatively easily but rev to 7500.
The current 285 cam is very easy in a light car, my other cam, an RL22 may be a bit cammy but i will give it a go.
ok well,as i said i got my pinto from vulcan engineering costing 1600quid with no ancillaries, bike carbs 320 from gbs,lumition 280 with leads,i wont
go any ferther the engine is 135bhp with the std pinto carb put webbers on that gives 150,and bike carbs give about the same as webbers 150bhp!
as for the 210bhp pinto its made by aaron at ht,no dout he spent a sh*t load of cash on it

im well happy with it and pintos all round,
also as im lerning this motor is a good start,when i got it i didnt know how to change the oil filter,now i have got another pinto a 202 block and
have striped it and rebuilding it and fit a turbo,
no dout your gona slag this off as well.
