am changing engine oil and filter on 5jj R1 today and was wondering if there is a certain oil+ filter which would be highly recommended to use? thanks.

Filter doesn't matter and I am using halfords semi-synthetic.
I have read not to use fully synthetic or car oil as it causes the clutch to slip

I always use Yamaha original oil filters and Motul 4T semi synthetic.

I run Castrol 10/50 syn. for my ZX12R

i was also told not to use fully synthetic for same reason!

I´m not sure if it is a problem on a R1 but mine has no slip at all. Running a Barnett clutch.
