Im looking at getting a new air filter for my car.
It is a C20XE with twin 45 dhla's, now ive seen a backing plate that says its for a zetec.
Now my question is: the backing plate for the zetec should fit my vauxhall? No?
As far as i can see the carbs WILL be the same spacing so why are there different backing plates?
Tommy
It's all down to the carb spacing, if your Vauxhall inlet manifold spaces the carbs differently to a Zetec one then the trumpets will be
close/further apart.
Pipercross have tec drawings of the spacings or you can get backplate blanks that you cut yourself
why don't you just get a blank back plate and cut your own holes?
quote:The spacing between both chokes on the same carb will obviously remain the same but the spacing between the two carbs may be different.

And even zetecs are differant from other zetecs depending on the make of manifold.
