go to turbosport, thay do alot or turbos it would be a good place to start,
get him to turbo it,thats what im doing its quite cheap to do,i thank superchargers are expencive i dont know much about them

im thinking about doing this as well when i put some money together.

obviously you will need a sealed plenum chamber of some kind and an induction pipe from the supercharger to the plenum, i would say that you would need to fit a air flow/intake temp sensor in the induction pipe somewhere

Supercharging is the cheap way.

Mini cooper s super chargers are available for about £100, then all you need is a suitable inlet manifold and fuelling system (preferably injection)...

Standard pinto will take 6-8psi of boost as long as you run an intercoolers. This is only on a stock engine which hasnt had the CR raised at all. Having said that for ultimate reliability obviously forged pistons and rods are the way to go.

A completely standard pinto running 6psi of boost will pump out around 200bhp.

7psi on a standard efi pinto is 180bhp thats all i got on mine.

For pinto supercharging have a hunt on some auz ford forums. They seem to like them.

I'd recommend a couple of books

1) Forced Induction Tuning by Graham Bell
2) Supercharged! by Corky Whathisname

Second one has more mathematical detail but first has more background info.

Neither ridiculously expensive....
