crank bolt thread

hi there,what hand is the crank bolt thread,the bolt that holds the pulley,is it left or right
im trying to undo it
oh sorry its on a pinto

(1) Put large ring spaner on it and jam the spanner against the chasssis or the ground.

(2) Disconnect the ignition feed to the coil and a single jab of the starter button will loosen the nut..

I would expect it to be right hand i.e. normal thread - never heard of it being LH and I am sure it would have been mentioned by now.

Starter motor method is quire brutal - I would use, and have done - a long breaker bar, push on that than give it a whack with a mallet or try a windy gun.

Put car in loow gear, hand brake on and a block of wood before the front wheels.

You should be able to get it off - vauxhahll 16 v engines are nototoriously diffficult to undo.
