what torx bit do i need for pinto head bolts, the new bolts have the 6 pt star pattern not the multi-point pattern like the old ones did.
is it a t55 bit? i measured from the inside edge of opposite points and it came to 11.24mm if thats any help.

T55 IIRC
Pick one up from my house Alex.
Steve.
Make sure that you've got a good bit. I used a Halfords Pro bit for my Pinto head bolts and then discovered the design fault - no matter what the size of the bit, they all neck down (or up) to a (6mm I think) hex which is then permanently mounted in its base. The hex on mine snapped doing the head bolts - luckily I had another one in a cheap set that doesn't have this problem.
sorry alex,
talking about head bolts do you think arp bolts are really worth it,
i mean its 13quid or 80quid
with arp do you tighten the head bolts more than you would with std bolts
im not using arp head bolts, mine were £12 from local motor factor, can't really see the point in spending £80 on arp's for a standard pinto! if you are going to turbo yours it might be worth the investment.
ARP bolts are a bit overkill. IMO
I have a couple of snap-on torx bits (the only snap-on stuff I own lol) specifically for doing pinto head bolts and sierra diff rear cover bolts
David
I'm using standard head bolts and 11 psi of boost!
No problem in £3k miles!
