Civic Vtec engine in the back - how to convert the geabox to run in the correct direction?

Hi,
Might be an easy question for some.
When you put the civic or any vtec in the back of a car to drive the rear wheels what modifications are required to the gearbox to drive the wheels in the correct direction?

Or question could be, how does the Atom do it?

None. As long as you don't turn it round. doesn't matter if its in the front or back it drives the same direction.

Does the atom use the diff that comes with the engine? It will drive the right way round then.

I guess the solution is to use a diff that matches the engine. How about an S2000? Does that go the same way?

The K20A as fitted to the atom and elise conversions (i had one) goes straight in.

I wanted to rotate the engine.
Usually it sits behind the front wheels and pulls the car.
If i rotate it so the engine is in the back but inbound of the rear wheels it would want to pull the car backwards??

s2000 is not a transverse engine, front engine rear wheel drive.

Im after putting an engine in the back to drive rear wheel drive.

Diff and drive shafts behind in the engine in the front?? With the diff and shafts behind the engine in th back that makes it a middi...

Any FWD system (apart from Audis with transaxles) will swap ends to make a middi...

Theres no way to turn it as you've suggested.

Oh so the diff drive shafts etc are already behind the engine in the civic -

That makes sense and makes the job a lot easier.

Just keep it the same way round.

For some reason i thought the the drive shafts were infront of the engine cheers.

Imp - if your've still got it in about 8 weeks i might have it, i'm just in the planning process.
