Debating what to do, if anything, with the cam cover on the duratec.
It's in very good condition as it is, the engine having never seen road muck before, so I am tempted to leave it bare.
What would you do?

Knowing your skills David, I would be tempted to make a Carbon Fibre cover with a metal plate inlay that reads
POWERED BY
FLAKTEC
While that is being made I would polish it.
Function not fashion: bare or polished. I painted my first engine but it looked a bit plastic/clinical. Bare metal/bare metal with clear laquer or polished up ftw
poilsh it and laqure it.

Stop tw*ting about with that cam cover and get it in!!!
I suppose "wear it like a hat" isn't an officially sanctioned option?

Can you etch the letters P, I, N, T, and O on it?
As said, just stick it in and forget!
are they not plastic? Evidently not but the one on our caterham is!
anyhow, I'd just bung it on!
The early ones are aluminium, the later ones are plastic.
Think I will just stick it on for now. Might make a laser etched plate for the top though
I assue yours is Ali. Can you machine down the Duratec bit and fit a new laser cut plate with wording of your choice?
Sorry i dont know what the OE cover looks like so i may be way off the mark. Custom style cover would look cool. Or just fit the std one for now and
get the conversion sorted, then change it later when its all de-bugged.
There is nothing marked on the cover at all, just a blank space where the label should be
So yes I can make a laser etcher plate to fix on if I get around to it
If its blank i think id be tempted to polish it up and leave it bare. Keep em guessing..
