Fuel pipe to carbs
joemotion - 23/7/09 at 06:12 PM

Got it registered today! yay and want it ready when i get my tax

however i have just found a fuel leak from the fuel pipe where it slides onto the pipe sticking out the bottom of the bike carbs. Currently it has two jubilee clips over the fuel line holding it onto the pipe. This however has started to leak - any tips to get the best seal? tried to seal it with the clips over the pipe however it still manages to escape! any ideas?

is the pipe diameter too big hence you trying to squeeze it down to fit round?

clips cutting into the pipe?

try different type jubilee clips - the ones that have a nut and bolt in them if that makes sense

i think the clips are not suitable - i will see if i can get a better one as its obviously not fitting correctly.

carbs, low pressure - should not leak that easily.

is the pipe plain end or has a tail end? if not, is is possible to make one?

is the hose too loose a fit i.e. wring I.D. for the pipe?

you can buy special fuel line clips that are sdupposed to be better than jubilee - VWP sell them.
