I have been doing a bit of homework on the engine that came with my car and wondered what other people could tell me.
the block is a 165 - and its marked up with LS which i believe means emax and thats about all i know , any other info would be good

what induction system came with it, carbs or efi ?

do you know the engine number? it will be on the right side of the block between the engine mount and the alternator bracket on a flat rectangular shaped part of the block

Aye it is indeed a 1.6 economy engine.
I had one in my indy before the 2.0.
the 165 differs from the earlier 1.6,
it has a smaller bore and longer stroke so shares
its timing belt with the 2.0.The head gasket from an early engine wont fit a 165.
