As the title says, I need a propshaft for my Locost. The current one I have has a little slack on the rear cross, hence cannot balance it.
Unfortunately its a press fit one (not the circlip type).
Other than sourcing another propshaft from a MK2 escort cutting welding & balancing, are there any cheaper options with regard to buying one ready
made?
I just got mine back from driveshaft uk, excellent service and quality product - fully recommend them.
Hi mate, you ok? I used Dunning and Fairbank in Leeds, www.propshafts.co.uk and they were great and reasonably priced, all they needs was a
measurement was from the diff face to the oil seal on the gearbox. You may want to email them to ask what they need and you could then supply a
drawing.
I'm always around that area so could collect for you, thats not a problem and poss meet up when you next fly into Leeds/Bradford?
Take care mate.
See ya
Rich
i used D&F too, highly recommend
The one I got with my build was from Bailey Morris - have had contact with them about sizes etc. and they've been really helpful.
Prices weren't too bad either, from what I remember.
What was said above about D&F but if it's easier they have a branch near Heathrow at Feltham called Propshaft Services tel: 00442088442265.
who were very helpful.
They fitted a larger UJ to mine, did it in a couple of hours and charged the princely sum of £25.
Cheers, Pewe
