ive got a ERA baffled sump on my silver top but i still get low pressure (15-20psi) on some corners of some circuits, i was thinking of an accusump, are they any good?

They are a very good thing indeed.

Three main types

Piston , This has a piston inside, air presure can be put in one end pushing the piston to the extreme end. Engine pressure then forces the piston back, filling the accumulator with oil. A valve is closed while the engine is still running, then the engine is stoped and the oil level topped back up to the normal amount.

The valve can then be opened before the engine is started to pre-lube the engine.

As soon as the engine is started the levels return to normal with the oil supply sitting in the accusump until oil pressure is lost from the engine due to pickup being starved of oil. The reduction in pressure causes the oil to rush out and hopefully save your engine.

Second type is similar but just has a bladder instead of a piston.

Third type is purely garity feed and must be situated in the verticle position. The oil pressure just squashes the air that is already trapped in a sealed cylinder. (air in the top, opil at the bottom)

ive got one fitted to a busa after a did the crank at rockingham in feb. it was running a swivel sump without a baffle and 10 laps did it in oil suge up the engine no baffle plate. andy at a b suggested an accusump and a baffle as well as a high flow oil pump. six track days later including a return to rockingham and not any problems dropped the oil twice with no debris in it. im a big convert and it preoils your engine as a bonus...
