duratec weight saving over pinto?
FASTdan - 25/8/09 at 07:10 AM

anyone know an approximate weight difference between the 2.3 duratec and the 2.0 pinto?

flakmonkey will have a pretty good idea being part way through a Pinto---->duratec swap (2.0 I believe though).

The engine is a good 45kg lighter than a pinto, plus you can get it further back in the chassis, so better weight distribution.

Wow is it that much, the difference between old and new technology.

I remember a conversation in a pub where someone thought there wasn’t much difference.... anyway you need Nissan Turbo power....

Theres not a massive difference between the wieght of a pinto and a zetec, about 10-15kgs. Theres a massive difference in the pinto to duratec though.
