I've done a search on this and not really got a definite answer

I'm runing a 3.38 (push in shafts) diff but would like to try a 3.62 ratio, so then got thinkin of trying an lsd

now can i keep my push in shafts or do they have to be bolt on for lsd?

Don't know, but can I have first dibbs on your 3.38 please

They need to be bolt on for an LSD but you can make hybrid driveshafts so you don't need to change your hub setup. At least thats what I've read.

Sounds like half the battle is getting all the right parts.

does anyone know how many splines there is on bolt on shafts at the hub end

i'm running disc brakes already with a drum to disc plate converter, so wonder if i'd also need to change the hubs to match if i just got bolt on shafts shafts

If you want to use bolt on shafts,you will need the complete shaft and bearings and hubs from a disc braked car to do it .The stub shaft and bearings are a larger diameter,so you may need to change or modify the rear uprights to fit.

reading that link you posted. i had a spare set of push in drive shafts and took apart in inner tri pod, but had 32 spines which didn't make any sense from what was posted in that thread! Hmmm

I also cut open a joint cover on some 27mm shafts and found 32 splines ,shafts came from a 1.8 cvh sierra.They do exist in 25 spline just finding a pair is the problem the loint cover i cut was half the length of a regular joint cover,so you need to find 27mm shafts with full length joint cover to strike lucky i think.

Not sure what are on my car joint cover wise, but i'm not gona butcher them!

i need to find a cheap lsd first anyway
