Can somebody recommend me an inexpensive fuel pump for 2005 5VY R1? it needs to be an external jobbie...

zx10 / 14 pump might do it. was looking at them today for one of my little ideas.

James, there are some relatively cheap vauxhall injection pumps on ebay that might be up to the job. Just make sure you use the R1 loom to feed it, because they need to be switched off once up to pressure. Lots of fuel pumps use the fuel flow to cool them, so running them once the fuel comes to a stop is not a good idea.

On my '06 5VY I'm running the Bosch pump from a late model Escrot RS Turbo. Sorry can't find the part number at the moment.

Does the pump output pressure have to match? (I think it's 42.6psi for the 5VY but presumably the regulator sets that?)

Out-put pressure is controlled down to required injector pressure by the fuel rail regulator. All injection pumps put out basically the same pressure (about 3bar from memory). The variation is the flow rate they can maintain.

I have no problems with mine and I've done 4000miles.

It's listed as a suitable factor for the Bosch 0580464070 Look OK?

We run the Bosch 0580254911 which fits the bill perfectly. (GSF car parts was cheapest for this)

The one you have we looked at, although it should work fine, we wanted a bit more overhead so it's not runnign to near it's capacity as we are track only cars and on the throttle at high revs a good deal of the time.

The fuel pump you have bought will be ok but make sure you put a filter before and after the pump
the pressure reg on the rail is set at 3 bar so it will reyurn any excess fuel not needed
