help with radiator zetec
stuleah - 18/9/09 at 07:27 PM

hi all, i am running a ford zetec e mondeo engine with a honda civic radiator. the zetec rad is a sealed unit with a pressurised header tank, where as the honda rad is conventional rad with more like an overflow type header tank (hope you understand).
will this make any difference or am i better off getting the honda rad cap welded up and use a pressurised tank?

Tank needs to be run into the bottom hose (not common with the bypass) and seal the rad, unless it has a top breather that you can run to the top of the header.

Zetec runs an expansion/fill tank, the breather ensures all ir is expelled acting as a bleed, if you get my drift

You don't need to solder up the rad cap, just get a blank cap, that has no pressure release fitted to it, and then use the overflow fitting as your top blead on the rad. If you understand what I mean, HTH Ray
