Hi all, looking for some info on weight and height and width of this engine.

Is the hiss in the ignition/key set, any thing I need to know about getting it running?

Thanks

Hi Jools
hiss system is built into the key, the reader that sits around the ignition barrel and the ecu. Basically it is a matched set and you need all components. Honda will not issue a key without reg docs and master key number. There is no way around it - I know I have tried.
If you do not have the full kit the options are
1 a new ecu, key etc fro Honda - cost prohibitive
2 seconnd hand hiss system - about £400 - £500
3 American ecu and loom - about £350
I will go and measure one and give you sizes asap and weight wise about 70kg
hope that helps

Just google the cbr1000rr to see a pic and it looks way to tall for me...

Is there any mods to reduce the height or can the stock airbox be replaced with a sausage type filter??

It is not possible to reduce the height with a sausage filter because it has a second set of injectors firing straight down the bellmouths and requires these to be at least 25mm over bellmouth to work properly. You can reduce the height by using a billet sump allowing a lower install but you will have at least 100mm through the bonnet.
Early blade weighs in at 65 kg all up and the 1000rr is slightly heavier
