A friend is looking at this for his car..... has anyone ever converted it to run RWD? Any Vtech experts know how these and a s2000 engine vary bar the 20bhp and cost?

At that price it'd be a good buy over most ford lumps surely due to its standard power?

the engine in the add is a k20a2 motor and with a few simple mods will give 230 bhp very good strong engine and has been put in some kit cars as rwd also some mk1 escorts i feel its 1 of the best 2.0ltr engines out there at the moment good bang for bucks

That is cheap horsepower

thats what i was thinking.... thats standard horsepower too.

How much would it cost to get a ford lump upto that sort of level? also it would never be as reliable.

the s2000 engine has been fitted in to kits also I am aware of 2 MK's that have had the engine and transmission fitted, so no problem with gearbox and adaptors etc

am sure they become very expensive to install in a kit. the engines are very tall.the mnr i saw had to be dry sumped at a considerable cost. and do they run standard ecu?

If that's from a European CTR, then it's 200PS as standard (slightly under 200bhp). Bare in mind you will need to source a suitable gearbox for it if using it in a front engined/RWD configuration.

There are a couple of JDM K20A's on ebay at the minute for more like £3.5k... Would be great in the back of an Elise...

Im pretty sure that the front wheel drive k20's and the S2000 motors spin in opposite directions and its the S2000 that you want.
Check out K20.org and the civic and integra forums. They will put you right

K20A and F20C both turn in the conventional (clockwise) direction.
