Just had one of those brain waves that hurt.
I struggle to get the car on and off trailer, it catches the edge of the trailer with the bottom of the gearbox mount that big conical thing
underneath.
just realised I never took it off the gearbox so do not know if I can mod it or change it in anyway so that it is not so sticky down.
To late to go and check now, but does anyone know what can be done?

Browsing the Sierra Manual looks like the mounting cup will come off and that is the item that sticks low with the bolt head protruding even lower, so
looks as though a mod to the cup and shorter bolt could save a few mm.

I just removed the cup and original bolt and replaced them with a short M12 and a washer.
iirc the cup you refer to is meant to prevent the gearbox coming through the floor in the event of a crash.
Without the cup the rubber tears and the gearbox pivots upwards on the propshaft , rather than the cup being trapped in the mount and everything at
the back being directed down as the front of the engine lifts instead, as its meant to.
I removed the cup from my Falcon as I made a custom mount and when it was in a crash, guess what happened...
Actually I was rather lucky in a way as when the gearbox hit the floor it only came part through till the chassis rails buckled and lifted the engine
front up but there was a fair bit of the floor that needed replaced

Handy to know.
I imagine a flat bar would do the job about as well, at least stopping the gearbox lifting.
I caught the coney gearbox mounting thing on the way into my barn thus:
And it smashed the gearbox mounting:
And here's my attempt at a bodge to get the car mobile again!
So, get it sorted before you do the same!!!
are you using the sierra mount or the old 4 speed one ?
the 4 speed ones used by caterham and westfield and is a bit smaller:

I've got both types so I can take some measurements later if you need them...
