Which performance camshaft is best for power in a 2 litre pinto with ported injection head running new plus 1mm cast ae pistons and zx6r bike carbs
And what is the proven power output
looking at around 6500 to 7000rpm max to keep it reliable

I have a piper 285 ultimate road cam. on there spec sheet it gives 22bhp at 2200-7000 rpm
my engine sounds about the same spec as yours and on zcars r/road it made 150 at 6000 rpm
im just rebuilding my head just put the ultimtie cam in, ive got webber 45's and ehaust thats it the engine has already been dyno'd at 147bhp so i'll see how it goes with the cam. .
i would go with an FR33 kent cam
I take it dale that your winder project is breating some power into the lions belly.
even another 10 BHP will help u up that long hill where you keep tring to kill me
Me and Pauld have got Vizard book on tuning the pinto someshere if you want o borrow it
LOL
I had a Kent FR32 in my 2.1similar spec to yours but with a standard injection head and it was very good gave 128bhp, I always felt that it could take
a bit more cam so the FR33 could be a very good one.
To make the cam work you need compression so push it to 10.5 to 1.
Pintos like lift but not to much duration so 300 degs max but as said earlier compression makes the cams work, your pistons are safe to 10.5 to 1 but
i am pushing my AE pistons to about 10.7
I was thinking along the lines of fr33 kent cam
Andy what are your winter mods
and your right more power will help me up woodhead but i never for one min thought that a 1.6 pinto would beat a 1.8 zetec
ps if the book is available to borrow that would be nice

when did the beating of the zetec happen ???
you read my post wrong meaning it never beat your zetec
