I have a 1.8 Silvertop (97) from a Ford Escort. It has standard 1800 Flywheel, 220mm Mondeo Clutch Kit with CCT 133 Thrust Bearing mounting to type 9 box. Can soemone tell me which starter I need as I've seen several different ones mentioned on here?? Confused..........

I have used a startermotor out of a Ford 2.0l DOHC and I believe a CVH 1.8 Starter will also fit.

Pinto starter fit as well with a 14mm
spacer between the bell housing and
starter.
I know because i have a pinto motor
on my silvertop.

Sierra DOHC starter used here too

2l dohc granada fits as well as 2 dohc sierra as well as the 1.8 cvh sierra. The sump will require modifying on the starter motor side as the starter fouls it
