is there a differance between the inlet and exhaust valve stem seals? my existing ones are diffent colours but the cheap head gasket kits look like all 16 are the same colour? is it worth getting a more expensive kit and lastly how do you get the old ones off?
genuine ones are red and green.
there replacment one are normally the same colour
i used a long reach socket knocked it on then twisted it n pulled at the same time to get them off.
You can buy a special tool to remove them but I used a piece of thin wall ally tube that was a tight fit over them, if I remember correctly it was a
section of a tent pole and was 15mm bore. You just need to press it over the seal until it grips and then wobble it sideways a little whilst pulling on
it to release the seal.
Paul.
Some people have had luck pulling them of with pipe bending spring.
I ended up taking the head to scholar with me whilst picking up a few bits.
