Do all ZX6r carbs have TPS. This will be my first megajolt project engine so it's all new. I've done lots of reading on the old posts about which carbs and how to fabrictace an inlet manifold etc etc.

I need to know when ZX6r carbs started having TPS or do they all have it.

mine (i don't know the particular model) has TPS too

I read 600cc bike carbs are ok for 1.8 silver top zetec.

Can i go larger?? ie: 1000cc or 1100cc

Not sure how i go about jetting/setting up etc... many on here use or have used BOGG BROTHERS.....?? seems the way to go

i've been told anywhere from 600cc to 1100cc bikes carbs are ok. in just about every case, you'll need the jets redrilled.

i had zzr1100 carbs for my 2.0 vauxhall engine, but they didn't have TPS, so i got zx9r carbs

the jets on mine will need drilled to about 1.5-1.6mm, yours perhaps slightly less.

mine are g and they come with tps. i think all the carbs after g1 have tps but im not 100% sure.

I used these hornet carbs LINKY DINKY DO DA

Do come with tps, drill out to 1.65 and bobs your uncle, fannies your aunt and dicks your best friend!

how do i drill the jets?

is it just to literally drill through to make the petrol hole bigger?

pretty much. you unscrew the jet out the bottom of the carb, and take a drill of the correct size to it

is it still advisable to have it set up rolling road stylee? or see how it goes?

I did have a rolling road session and the air correctors got blocked off so always worth doing if they know about bike carbs just to make sure they are giving you the best power but 1.65 should give you a useable car to drive to the rolling road!

I have some spare 1.65 drlils if you need 1!

personally i wouldnt touch the jets.

when i had mine set up they didnt need to re drill the jets.

they reprofiled the needles which was enough.

you only need to redrill the jets if the car is underfueling past 4.5k if its underfueling below 4.5k the needles need reprofiling or you will lose your fuel economy on cruse.

they are near impossible to seup without a wideband lambada so if you dont have one just take it to the rr. i can reccomend atspeed in essex if your in the south

I'm in lincolnshire. Boston area. I think bogg brothers are in yorkshire somewhere, so may be worth a day trip out.

I'm running ZX6Rs on a 2.0 Zetec and they work great. Jets are drilled to 1.6mm and needles are adjusted to get mid range mixture right. I set mine up with a wide band lambda.

The standard size jets are likely to be too small on a 1.8 Zetec [depending on what air filter / airbox you are running]. The biggest danger with DIY carb setups is running too lean, hence the need for a wideband or better still an RR session.
