how hard is it to shorten a choke cable?
clicky
this one will be too long but they all seem to be around this length. I probably need one less than half that length!
my one is susspiciously like a bike cable, should be v.easy to shorten it, pop into your local bike shop and they will probably have any bits you may need, end clampy nipple thingys.
I have a similar one, its easy to shorten, you can remove the inner cable from the sleeve, cut the sleeve down to size, then re assemble and cut the inner cable to the correct size without damaging it.
I always solder up the inner cable at the point of cutting, before cutting it, it stops it fraying and makes it easy to slide back through the outer.
^^^ what thay say.
in some cases, the inner is a solid wire, not multi strands, so no need fro soldering.

cheers guys, i will buy it now.
I bought one of those at the local car shop for under £3. It has a solid inner and you can just pull the knob out as far as you want then cut the inner and outer and push the inner back through.
To cut the inner cable neatly use a sharp cold chisel and an anvil/vice whatever , just give the chisel a sharp tap . Cable cutters don't cut as neatly as this method , ask any old motor cycle mechanics
