I've installed a secondhand engine in a Ford Focus 03 reg. I cannot get the engine started and have come to the point where I am sure that it is
a timing problem. The engine came out of a car with automatic transmission (mine is manual) and as far as I can see there is at least a 20 degree
difference in the timing mark on the flywheel for the cranksensor between the two engines (everything else is indentical).
I have heard that the same kind of problem can occur if people put a dualmass flywheel on a ford.
Any ideas how I can get around this?
I know the solution but your not going to like it as you will have to take the engine back out

Whats the solution.. its been in and out many times so getting used to it
The Crank position sensor housing is differant between auto and manual.
see pic
change for the one on your old engine and it will go if its a zetec black top ?
