hi all,
I need to buy various connectors for the water system on my car. Samco have all the stuff i need but wondered what locost alternatives have been used.
The two tee pieces and reducers are coming to more than fifty quid. Or am i just being tight?????
Cheers
Paul
i dont know about price comparisons but im using auto performace http://www.auto-performance.co.uk/
another vote for aytu performance very quick delivery and the hoses are really good quality, and even better for me they are near enough to pick
things up if needed. give them a go you wont be disappointed

^^^ have spent quite a fair bit with autoperformance (I think also trades as mr silicone) on ebay.
he/she advertises more than one item so check, sometiems with free p+p, sometimes have discounted offer so do proper search.
I got my silicon hosing/pipework and associated joiners from DL Products [http://www.auto-bar.co.uk/products/index.php]
Typically a trade-only supplier, I went down in person and had a chat to the people there and came away with everything I needed in one hit.
But have a look around, and maybe make a phone call - it can't hurt!
I always tend to use:

If your being tight look at copper fittings.. IMHO silicone hose is to expensive..
i'd second copper fittings.
Try what we did, go into your local motor factors place (that's Wilco here in Norwich, don't know if they're national) explain what
you're up to, plumbing a kit, and see what they say. With us he brought out a big box of obsolete stock and let us have a good rummage for what
we needed, fished out half a dozen pieces that were useful and they charged us £14, very locost.

I'd go for copper as well
Autoperformance (Mr Silicon) are okay but some of their tube joiners are not standard fit. I wanted a 28mm joiner they sent me a 27mm (imperial)
joiner and then when I asked for a non-ribbed 30mm they sent me a ribbed 32mm
but their hoses are okay...
I used Rally Designs own silicone hoses a lot cheaper that samco.
thanks for all the replies. Out of curiosity i went to the scrappers yesterday and came back with one tee piece at the right bore (38mm with a 19mm
tee) off today to try and find another and various other bits. I'll post a list of cars, years and useful parts etc.
cheers
