choke/accelerator cables
cd.thomson - 3/3/10 at 09:40 AM

Good morning all,

With regards to my choke/accelerator cables I have bought two generic items.

I understand that a bike shop will be able to put on the ends I need, could anyone advise what I should ask for? The choke and one end of the accelerator cable needs to fit to a set of ZX9R carbs and the other end of the accelerator cable needs to fit to my pedal box as show below. It would appear I also need some way of securing the outer cable in the pedal box.

i bought a venhill cable,

It came with the bit on one end for the carbs, and then came with a bunch of adjuster and solderless nipples and clevises etc that i am going to use to attach it to my pedal.

ETA im not using zx9r carbs, but id imagine the fixing is the same on most

lol dont worry, bolts are fitted - that picture is way old but is the only clear one I have.

FYI I need a 3 solderless nipples, and a cable adjuster.

Robert, I'm going into the bike shop on saturday so I will u2u you the details of the parts I buy ready for when you're at the same stage.

I work a million miles from home so I'm not sure yet! I was going to pop you a message when I got home to let you know.
