Hello, I am having increasing trouble selecting reverse on my type 9 gearbox. It will select reverse eventually but only after a good bit of stirring.
The only modification I made was to cut 3" off the top of the gear lever.
Any advice on how to cure this?
Does your clutch cable need tweeking? Maybe if it's not disengaging all the way you might not get reverse. Is it crunching alot? Or you
can't engage it?
Dan
Is it clearing the detent ok, but not going into gear? Or is it just having trouble engaging the gear once selected?
It's not crunching, the lever just won't move over far enough to the reverese position. All the other gears will select fine.
Thanks for replies by the way....
Has the reverse stopper come loose inside the selector housing? I had to remove mine to fit the remote. Wasn't that well held in.
Other than that i'm all out of ideas. Maybe someone who knows more about it can help
Dan
you are pushing down to select reverse?
(turn it off and on again sort of advice!)
The BEC experience.
Has the nylon clip at the bottom of the stick on the selector rod come loose/rotated/fell off?
Steve
I had that problem, turned out as mentioned above that the cable just needed adjusting where it connects to the gearbox due to the new cable probably stretching slightly
I had same problem plastic nylon thingy was warn out (as per above)...
