Have you hooked up the vacume tube to the carbs ?

It uses this to sense load and adjust the advance curve.

andy188 - 4/4/10 at 08:46 PM

yes wasa, have gott vacum tube from each runner going to plenem chamber, feeding esc module and brake servo, still abit concerened about this part, not sure if plenim chamber is big enough for esc and brakes, tried pedal, seems to work, have not fitted nrv valves yet, another bit to add to my list, thanks 4 all your advise. andy

What Clutch problem do you have? Im currently installing a zetec and also having a clutch problem. Wondering if its the same thing.

andy188 - 4/4/10 at 09:12 PM

not sure what the problem is yet, depress clutch pedal, noise, tried to put it gear, can select gears ok, release pedal , noise again, no drive, have used all the same cvh clutch and gearbox parts as was used with cvh engine in car last year, has been suggested release arm not right ??, hope to have a look tomorrow.

eddie99 - 4/4/10 at 09:14 PM

Might be similar. My clutch just isnt engaging, the arm out of the gearbox is half way down the grooves when i think it should be at the top..... So when i press the pedal, its only going down from there and releasing back to the middle....
Am taking engine out and seeing if i can see whats wrong...
Good luck with solving your problem, im sure someone on here will know whats wrong!

is there a definative answer to which clutch fork should be used on a zetec using the pinto size clutch and zetec flywheel?

as i do remember seeing a pic of the various forks which all seem to be different angles

coozer - 5/4/10 at 08:38 AM

Standard type 9 fork with a Capri (longer body) release bearing.
On mine that's with 1.8 zetec flywheel and 1.8 Mondeo clutch cover and plate.

whitestu - 5/4/10 at 09:11 AM

I think Coozer is right. I used the CVH flywheel so didn't need to use a different release bearing.

Clutch fork will not sit at the top of the housing with a new clutch. But half way down does sound a long way aswell.

A rattle or rumble is normall because there is no spring to keep tension. The bearing and fork will rattle around a little.

had another few hrs on car yesturday, got fan working, i am using cvh sender at mo in polo rad, think this needs changing to zetec one ???. (hotter) ??
rev counter seems to be not working right, revs increase, not the same as engine revs, have connected green wire from esc ignition, used to run off coil and dissy, ???, signal is comming from esc, is this a different type of signal, thanks andy
