I've got a set of GSXR 600 carbs that I am planning on using on a 1.6 cvh engine. When I make the manifold should I set the carbs at the same
angle as they would have been in the bike?
I have read about setting the float bowl to carb body joint level, but looking at the cross section diagram I have of the carbs this will reduce the
fuel height in the float bowl greatly.
Any advice / pictures of your setup's would be great.
Cheers
Dave
i have a set of ZX6 carbs on a 1.6 CVH, i made the manifold so as to keep the bowl at the same angle as when on the bike, this also helped clearance, but others have fitted them at more of a vertical angle without problems, i can give you details of my carb settings if of use but dont know if will be of use for GSXR carbs though
My ZX6 carbs are fitted so the slides are veritcal, so the floats are in a very different position to the bike.
They work perfectly.

This type of carb is not very sensitive to its position from the vertical due to the float level not being as critical to fuel calibration like a
DCOE would be.
I have never back to back tested this, but I have run a SU carb at a silly angle on race car with no problems.
