Crossflow Sump Gasket
DavidM - 10/4/10 at 09:11 PM

Hi,
I've removed my sump to make a permanent repair after damaging it last year. When removed the sump had the standard cork gasket but this was coated both sides with gasket sealant. When I replace the sump, should I use gasket sealant or just the new cork gasket?

Ditch the cork gasket and get the better type from Burtons . Cork always tends to leak my Burtons item has been used at least three times with no signs of leaking.

Thanks Rusty, is that the grey one listed as competition?

Yes , it's worth every penny. I just give it a light coat of Hylomar and haven't had any leaks at all

even with a vork gasket, you should not need sealant other than to act as a bit of glue to hold it in place before you bolt on the sump.

need to check if mine leaks or not.
