Where can I get this adaptor??
prawnabie - 25/4/10 at 08:35 PM

Hi guys

I need an adapter to fit the temp sensor on my acewell into the coolant temp sensor hole on the head of my crossflow.

The bit the screws into the head would need to be 1/8 npt and the other end needs to allow the m10x1 acewell sensor to screw in - any ideas?

Cheers

Shaun

You'll probably get away with it, not too tight and use some loctite.

Possibly a bit agricultural

Thanks guys, I see europa do these and will be at Stoneleigh.

Are m10x1 and 1/8 npt similar thread sizes then?

Come on mate that is just a bit HICK and a BODGE..... I know it is a low pressure system but a bodge like that could end up f****** the threads on both the sensor and the Head.

You'd be better trying to get a crossover as suggested or changing the sensor to NPT threaded one.

Acewell will supply a sensor to suit, this is from an email convo I had with them 2 weeks ago:

Hi Andrew, the ACE-3250 doens't come with a temperature sensor, only the gauge.
We do a range of sensors which can be ordered at the same time as the ACE-3250:

M10 x 1mm
NPT 1/8
M12 x 1.5mm
M14 x 1.25mm
M14 x 1.5mm

Best Regards
Craig

I guess I've been spending too much time in deepest darkest Africa, you'd be amazed at what you will try and get away with when you're in the sh1t with no spares back up.

However in the sober light of day probably better to go down a more professional route.

They are very similar thread but I think you can only bodge 1/8" male into 10mm female.
