Hi all

Is it ok to clean my carb bits in white spirit?

I wouldnt. The white spirit will leave a flammable oily residue that might burst into flames if your engine backfires.

carb cleaner or even petrol should do the trick

But the petrol mist will soon wash that off.

Gun wash thinners = carb cleaner = (mainly) tolulene

But yes, thinners or petrol will do the trick nicely
