whats the best way to get good straight edges when cutting silicone hose? without special tools that is...

put a jubilee clip round the pipe to give you a straight edge to cut against and use a sharp knife .m.

I have a wonderful 8" kitchen knife I picked up in the Czech Republic many years ago - best slicing knife I have ever owned , super sharp , and only about 1mm thick .
Fantastic in the kitchen , and great for cutting hoses

Spray a bit of silicone spray of the hose/knife makes it cut smoother. Otherwise pipe inside and clip as a guide... or just a steady hand.

its getting there!

you see where this is going? some aluminium tube and a 45 degree bend should sort it out i think

hopefully this route won't cause any problems. now, still need to get a header tank designed and made... tomorrows job i think

and yeah, i know they're different colours, but thats ok for now...
