Tris - 5/5/10 at 04:32 PM

Hi All,

Does anyone know where i can get hold of a gasket for a ZX12 fuel pump ?.

If not, could i make a gasket which is fuel proof and if so, what out of ?

Cheers
Tris

I woul dhave thought a local Kwakker dealer could get you one, they tend not to take the pee with prices either I've found.

if you can't get one I think mine is made of rubber but I can double check. I seem to remember it has some little washers built into it which seem to prevent it being tightened too much but also make it harder to get a tight fit?

Edited cos I'm a bit dumb and thought it was cork but it aint!!

Kawasaki want £24 for one (i brought the whole pump of ebay for less than that )

The washers may go some way to explain the price though... Hmm, thanks anyway - decisions, decisions

Tris, some decent quality cork gaskest material will do the job just fine, 2R1's done that way & no worries. cheers D

Thanks for that - where's best to get some cork gasket material ? Is it something that the local motor factors would stock ?

Tris, I have a roll of industrial gasket paper, it's about 3mm thick. I can send you a bit of that if you like. Send me u2u if you want some.
p.s. I'm enjoying your build blog mate, I like the Spire GTR nice car.
