Ive been looking into audi V8 engines for a while and found this link. There is allot of info on there. It seames there are quite a few aplications?

has anyone fitted the Audi lump on an aftermarket ecu?

Which V8 were you thinking off? B7 (FSI) or earlier?

Probably the earlier 4.2 32v AHC only because there is no vvt or FSI and would be easier to run on an aftermarket ecu.

it seams the FSI is very hard to control? and the cam driven pumps lift the fuel pressure to between 30 and 100 bar

Yep... much easier to stick with the earlier engines.

Most aftermarket ecu's will control the non-FSI engine.

So what were u planning to do with your direct injectors? Did u plug them. Also is there not a crank pos sensor on them. I see he had to make one?

Yeah... I plugged mine and had a set of throttle body manifolds made.
