zetec with bike carb emissions
femster87 - 11/6/10 at 08:13 AM

am in the process of fitting a bike carb to a 1.8 zetec. I want to know if there are any issues as to emission for the IVA,

The IVA emissions are based on the year the engine was produced. As a general rule anything before 1992 is a non CAT test. Between 1992 and 1995 is a little grey (IVA has 2 charts?) then anything after August 1995 Deffo requires a CAT / Injection to pass IVA emissions.

Thats not true. The Q plate/emissions rule was pre SVA (10 years ago!). They are entirely separate now. VOSA do the emissions at the IVA and the DVLA issue your plate.

wrong. still matters at IVA (you don't have a number plate at IVA) usually doesn't matter at MOT, but not always anymore

For MOT is it the reg number or the engine date that dictates the emissions test?
