Hi All the Wife's 1000cc 3 cylinder engine is in need of a cam chain etc and a new clutch
is it possible to remove the engine and leave the gear box / drive shafts etc in place
Thanks Graham

I would take engine and gearbox out as one unit. I don't think you would get enough freedom of space to split engine from gearbox in situe. Even if you could, it would be an absoloute pig to put back in to allign clutch etc..
Cheers Eric.

Leave the engine in and do the jobs separately or take the complete unit out.

Re-camshaft take the cover off and look for loose bolts before you start the job, however it is likely it is a lubrication issue that caused the problem ie "gunge" .

These engines need to be run on 5w/30 fully synthetic changed at less than the manufacturers service interval.

Drop the whole lot out the bottom the opposite way to it being assembled?
