Came home last nite and when stoped car front carb was running petrol out underneath late so took petrol pipe of to stop it mabie thought float stuck but when took cover off am float chamber empty just you thoughts before i strip carb cheers

The fuel has evaporated. Either the float needle is stuck or the fuel pressure is too high

Blocked filter somewhere?
Pump on the blink?
Split in "rubber" petrol pipe - maybe tank side of pump (assuming external pump) if there's no obvious sign of petrol spilling out elsewhere? More likely with the braided sort as you can't see if it's split - lots of discussion on here recently.
BTW my Weber running much better since I invested in a Malpassi filter/regulator with pressure guage. Prob was running too high a pressure out of the pump whereas Webers are designed to run at up to 5psi but mine happiest around 2.5 - 3 psi. Also tells you whether the pumps working efficiently. Cost a fair amount but transferable if ever I change cars.

Assuming it is a dcoe there is a "sump" underneath fixed by 4 screws, the gasket here may be leaking.
