thinking of fitting a Jaguar xjr engine in a robin hood. Anyone done it? would it squeeze in? or thinking of the m3 3.2 engine. I need to rip out the old v6 capri thats only producing 160bhp and weights a ton. What should i go for must be v6 or straight 6 (if it will fit).

SpeedyXJS is your man. Search him on here.

Engine looks tidy too.

^been hearing about that. It was to prove the sceptics about its strength wrong.

the m3 straight 6 isn't that big, my gkd chassis isn't large at all and it fits well

Good 'bang for buck' really with over 300bhp standard or 100bhp more than you need in a seven!

Good choice!

One thing i will mention is that i have the 3.6 AJ6 and there is s**t loads of tourque. Im not sure how easy the supercharged AJ16 would be to drive.

Im not the only one fitting a straight six. so do a search and see what others have done. I have lengthened and widened the engine bay by 6" to fit it all in but i know others have managed to get BMW power plants in standard kit chassis.

Black Fingernail - let me know when you rip the Essex V6 out as I may well be interested in that, price dependent of course!

That assumes that its not the 2.8 V6

Carpmart, its the Ford Cologne 2.8 v6. Speedyyxjs, i have seen your build looks great, what the handling like with that lump at the front. must be skitish at the back, but thats the fun about it all hey!

I think both engines produce 321bhp, I havent research with one is lighther tho.

re the robin hoog jag. it sat in the factory 'showroom' for years and when they moved it out once it had been sold the clutch was a bit stiff and it burnt two holes in the carpet with the wheel spin.

not heard/seen anything about it for years now. but one of the guys who has driven it described it as a bit of a handful
