Where my exhaust passed by the bodywork it gets hot, in this weather, too hot to touch. And its trying to decolour!

What sort of thermal barrier would people use, the exhaust is wraped, but the heat that pours of it is still huge.

Ebay seems to do fibrous silvered sheet (6inch strips only) like this

Also, how would then be best to stick it to the back of fibreglass, which is currently also rather oilly!

I'll assume you mean under the bonnet if you want to put it on the inside.

CBS do "heat mat" by the metre from a roll and as high temp adhesive to fix it. Just degrease the grp first.

You might want to put some vents in to let the hot air escape as well instead of just sitting there.

Iv put four layers of exhaust wrap on mine.

The wrap should be enough. Have you checked your timing recently and its not too advanced making the exhaust too hot?
