The complex build of my Pinto continues with one step forward and another back.
I have had a hybrid oil pickup pipe made (thanks 907) this is an RS2000 pipe with a Cosworth 2wd spray bar. The reason for the spray bar is the
fittment of Cosworth rods and not finding about the notching of them until after I had fitted them. To lubricate the gudgon pins I fitted the spray
bar it now stops the sump from mating to the block by about 4mm.
Is ther a thicker gasket available, can I fit 2? or is there a company that can make gaskets to order?

why not buy a piece of 5mm aluminium plate and make a spacer, that way you can just use std gaskets.
If the standard gasket is cork then it will leak sooner or later. Burtons may be able to help with a competition gasket , they do one for a Xflow that may be a bit thicker than than the cork item so may do one for a Pinto? Check out part no FT793C

Can you just modify the sump to fit that way you will not have the same problem if you have to remove it again.

thats very good thinking for this early on a sunday!!
i have a spare block or a sump we could take a template off Paul.
as above mod the sump is the best way to go
Hi, mod the sump to miss the spray bar or mod the spray bar to miss the sump thicker gaskets wont seal around the front and rear half moons.
you dont say if its a steel (easily modified)sump or an ally one.
Ray
p.s. if its steel you may be able to gently persuade the sump away from the tight spot wit a suitable hammer.
Perhaps easier to just whip the rods out, get them notched, put them in again, ditch the spray bar and pop the sump on without modifying it?
Or do you need the spray bar for piston cooling?
