hi,

I was under the impression it was better to paint the engine a colour other than black so that you can see oil leaks?

also have you painted the whole lot black or just the block?

A RV8 is going to leak, might as well cover it up

Spent hours cleaning then painting my first R V8, then found out it was duff. Since then just a decent degrease

as the engine is coming out of the Marcos as i'm taking the body of I know its ok just want every thing to look a bit better once its back together.

what did you use to degrees the engine?

Just a proprietry engine degreaser and wire brush (including drill mounted)

Then a good hose down

I have painted the whole lot. The block, the sump, the timing cover and the heads.

Yes I know the folly of painting a enigne gloss black as it makes it more difficult to see oil leaks. But my car is red and black. I just didn't want a red engine.

I painted my block and heads in VHT silver and the rockers are black.

On my RHood I painted the heads a sort of gunmetal grey with blue rocker covers.
