Just reading through the Haynes manual on the Sierra for the push in drive shafts. I have now a spare pair of shafts that need the rubbers replacing,
have others done the tins as well or just used universal rubbers for them?

So replacing the tin is really not required, just a clean and paint if physically OK.
I will see what my local stockist has in in regards universal boots.

Don't get a universal boot. You'll have a better fit if you get a specific fit "Dura-boot". Then stretch it over with a cone tool
or pop down to see me and I'll put it on with my air tool that opens the boot up and just pops it on.

Excellent. Love that method.
You HAVE to use them with DURA BOOTS.
Other lesser brands dont have the stretch and damage the dura gun
why not get the original Ford parts (i.e. the tin bit, and the rubber gaiter)? I got them from Ford 6 months ago although they had to order them
in.

how easy where they to fit ? I've got to do mine and have the ford parts ready....
just a bit nervous about the pulling the tin onto the CV joint as i don't have a puller.
