Duratec to MX-5 box
DIY Si - 17/8/10 at 04:33 PM

Simple question really.

Will the 2.0 litre Duratec bolt straight to the new MX-5 six speed box? I thought the Duratec shared the same bellhousing pattern as the MX-5 engine, but I'm not sure if I'm remembering right or not.

Cheers all.

the new 05 and newer mx5 box will fit on to the ford duratec, and the engine is a mazda.

Last time I looked at a late MX5 the engine had Ford on it!

Yes... it will fit.

Beware that it puts a slight cant on the engine positioning (can't remember to what side the lean is though).

I don't know about the Mazda, but usually the lean is away from the inlet side (more room for long inlet tract etc)
