i have a 03 plate focus ST170 and engine light has come on my mate has code read it for me and it read ( intake manifold control solenoid stuck open ) cleared the code and its off at the mo has any one had this fault befor

Quite common - there is a flap in the inlet controlled by a motor and wire that jams

control box on bulkhead with a cable coming out .That goes wrong

is it some thing that can be cleaned or iam i best replacing it

there is a part inside that the cable join's to that snaps you maybe able to repair found this on on the bay so you know what to look for hope it helps

ill have a look for that on my engine not seen any thing like it befor
been out in it today and its stayed off so i dont no cars grrr
