One way fuel valve to use for tank breather ?
Tris - 11/9/10 at 11:00 PM

Hello All,

Quick question - what do most people do with the fuel tank breather ?. I am going to install a Filter, but is it best to also install some sort of one way valve just incase the car ever rolls ?

Cheers
Tris

Definitely fit a one way valve - CBS do some neat ones for under a tenner.

You want one like this that lets air in but doesn't let fuel out if you roll, a 'bi directional one way valve'.

The one way valve doesn't allow air out when it expands in the hot sun..

I purchased my tank breather one way valve from think automotive, top people to deal with and good prices too.

I currently have the std dax tank breather (small pipe off of the filler neck vented under the car) this has no valve in it which is a pain as if you brim the tank then it all pi**es out of the breather as it did when i brimmed the tank for the IVA test.

Would putting one of these bi-directional valves stop this but still give the pressure relief?
