Hi folks,
Which gearboxes can be bolted onto a Vauxhall red top engine? Is there enough room in the standard chassis? I heard somewhere about a lack of clearance for the starter motor??

Type 9 is fine with the suitable bellhousing...

type 9 is the best option, all things considered.

What's involved with mating a red top to a manta gearbox?

nothing, bolts straight on, just need a custom propshaft.

They're not as common/cheap as the type 9 though and the internals are made of butter.
